Study Options

Can I study part time?

AAOWT is dedicated to providing a range of study options to fit students lifestyles. Study options with AAOWT include:

  • Enrolment in a full qualification, skill set or single unit of competency
  • Full time and part time study
  • Some units are available through one on one mentoring, correspondence and online study
  • Some qualifications are available through work based traineeships
How can I organize a study plan?

If you are looking at part time or flexible study options, contact Program Support Team to organize an appointment to discuss your personal and career goals.  We will help you tailor a study plan that fits your academic and financial requirements. Please feel free to email us at courses@aaowt.edu.au


How do I enrol?

You can complete an enrolment form which can be downloaded from our website or you can request an application via email through admin@aaowt.edu.au.  Upon receipt of the signed and completed enrolment form, the Academy will contact you to come in for an appointment and to ensure that you have all the required information before you sign your Letter of Offer and Written Agreement.

When will my classes start?

Timetables are created 3 months prior to the start of semester.  On occasion, AAOWT may need to change a class date due to trainer requirements, class numbers or availability.  When this occurs, you will be notified with as much notice as possible.  If you are unsure about your timetable, contact AAOWT at admin@aaowt.edu.au   The final timetable will be available online to students and confirmed one week prior to class commencement.

Do I have to have experience in order to start a qualification?

The following qualifications can be enrolled into with no prior experience or training:

  • Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice (HLT40312)
  • Certificate IV in Aromatherapy (HLT42712)
  • Diploma of Reflexology (HLT51217)
  • Certificate II-Diploma of Beauty Therapy (SIB10)


What fees apply to training?

Fee are based on the units that a student is enrolled in. Charges that students should check include:

  • Course Fees (These fees are outlined in your fee schedules)
  • Resource Fees (These fees apply to students studying Specialisations on campus and are pre semester fees)
  • Enrolment Fee (This is a one off fee charged to students enrolling in a full qualification or skill set)
  • Uniform- Students who will be completing practical in student clinic will be required to purchase an AAOWT uniform, this shirt can be purchased any time before clinic for $35 plus GST.
Do I need to pay a deposit?

You are required to pay a non-refundable enrolment fee when you apply to the academy.  Course fee deposits of 20% and/or payment plans must be confirmed and signed 2 weeks prior to the commencement of your first unit or class.

Do you offer payment plans?

Yes, we offer a range of payment plans through our EzyPay system, a payment schedule will be negotiated with you at enrolment.

How can I pay for my fees?

AAOWT accepts direct debit or fees can be paid on site. Please note that if you are paying with a credit card additional fees may apply, eftpos (saving or cheque) does not attract additional fees.

If you are paying by direct debit, you need to ensure that your full name is in the reference or we may not be able to track and allocate your payment. For account details, please contact the academy office on 08 9355 5239.

What will books and learning resources cost me?

Depending on your course of study, the academy or your trainer may recommend additional texts to you.  Resources and texts for units will be discussed with you prior to the unit commencing, required resources for units will be outlined to you in writing.

Can I get any financial assistance for my studies?

AAOWT offer an easy payment plan for our courses. For eligible students financial assistance such as Austudy, Abstudy and VET fee help for diploma courses may apply.



Are AAOWT Recognized by the government of industry bodies?

AAOWT offers a range of nationally recognized and government accredited courses. For a full list of AAOWT’s government accredited courses go to http://training.gov.au/Organisation/Details/564a9e17-87df-4f97-898e-64ea0407e9bb accredited by Australian Skills Quality Authority.

AAOWT courses are accredited by the following industry bodies:

  • IAAMA International Aromatherapy and Aromatic Medicine Association
  • AAMT Australian Association of Massage Therapists Limited
  • ATMS Australian Traditional-Medicine Society
  • ANTA Australian Natural Therapists Association Limited
  • AMT Association of Massage Therapists Ltd
  • MAA  Massage Association of Australia Inc.

RAA Reflexology Association of Australia

After training, will I be able to receive my Health Care Provider Number?

Successful completion of the following courses will allow you to gain membership with one of the industry bodies above and apply for a Health Care Provider Number:

  • Certificate IV in Massage Therapy Practice (HLT40312)
  • Diploma of Remedial Massage (HLT50307) *
  • Diploma of Aromatherapy (HLT51407) *
  • Diploma of Reflexology (HLT51712)

Please note that both Massage and Aromatherapy have a Certificate IV as a pre-requisite.


What are my transport options?

By train: Take the Victoria Park exit from Victoria Park Station.


By bus: The Campus is conveniently located in the business hub of Victoria Park/South Perth, only 5 km or 10 minutes on Canning Highway from the Perth CBD.

  • Buses from the city stop on Southern side of Canning Highway near McDonalds Restaurant. Bus stop 10228.
  • Bus routes stopping at 10228 are 32, 33, 35, 106, and 709.
  • Buses into the city stop on the northern side of Canning Highway, near the Shell Petrol kiosk. This bus stop is number 10342.
  • Bus routes stopping at no. 10342 are 32, 33, 35, 106, and 709


By car: Students may use the car park at the rear of the South Gate Complex, or park several streets away from Canning Highway and enjoy a walk to Academy.


By bicycle: The health alternative! You are welcome to chain your bicycle to the bicycle bay in the front of the Southgate Management Office.
